More Than Just Building Robots

A Global Robotics Community Preparing Young People For the Future Through Team Competitions and STEAM Learning

FIRST ROBOTICS COMPETITION

The 2023-2024 FIRST season, FIRST IN SHOW, where we’ll be empowering young people to design and build a world of endless possibilities. The future is a place you will create! Watch the video to learn more.

Our teams are made up of students from grades K-12, and compete as part of FIRST.

Registration starts in late May for the 2024-2025 season.

FIRST® LEGO LEAGUE EXPLORE
Grades K-3

FIRST LEGO® League Explore introduces science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM) to children with a yearly challenge based on a different theme and has two main parts, the LEGO model and the Show Me Poster.

FIRST® LEGO LEAGUE CHALLENGE
Grades 4-6

In FLL Challenge, friendly competition is at the heart of this League, as teams of students grades 4-6 engage in research, problem-solving, coding, and engineering – building and programming a LEGO robot that navigates the missions of a robot game.

Each yearly challenge is based on a different theme.

FIRST® TECH CHALLENGE
Grades 7-8

FIRST Tech Challenge students learn to think like engineers. Teams design, build, and code robots to compete in an alliance format against other teams. Robots are built from a reusable platform, powered by Android technology, and can be coded using a variety of levels of Java-based programming.

FIRST® ROBOTICS COMPETITION
Grades 9-12

Our FIRST Robotics Competition Team, under strict rules and limited time and resources, is challenged to build an industrial-sized robot to play a difficult field game in alliance with other teams, while also fundraising to meet their goals, designing a team “brand,” and advancing respect and appreciation for STEM within the local community.

We would like to say goodbye to Will for our third senior post. He enjoys video games, working on small building projects and is planning on taking up an apprenticeship with an electrical company to get his Journeyman's license and eventually his masters license.
